Position Objective:

The Risk Assessment and Commercial Contract Manager is responsible for creating and managing our pre-sale capital equipment quotation risk evaluation process and implementing that process throughout North America. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the contractual negotiation of terms and conditions with key customers. They manager will communicate with our customers as well as internally with Sales, Legal, Purchasing, Engineering (process, applications, project) and others as appropriate to facilitate risk, contract, and bid management in concert with the commercial team's attainment of forecast.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Creation of Standard Work for our internal Risk Analysis assessment in bidding process.
  • Coordinating the various Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Procurement and Operations inputs that may be required for the timely completion of budgetary, firm or engineering only bids.
  • Contract management including the coordination of NDA and/or T&Cs reviews with the internal Legal, Sales and Compliance team as well as coordinating customer reviews of the same.
  • Development of standard work and processes with Sales Management regarding the scheduling and completion of bid submittals.
  • Maintaining the bid review process for technical compliance to customer requirements.
  • Aid Sales team in negotiating resolution of pre-sale technical and commercial issues.
  • Lead risk management activities as required for internal compliance on capital equipment projects.
  • Maintain performance measurements (actuals versus targeted estimated) for RFQ milestones.
  • Assist in developing strategies to win business (projects) through the competitive bidding process.
  • Participate in and drive continuous improvement efforts to improve bid delivery times, risk mitigation and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Engineering or technical is preferred. We will also consider experience with legal contract reviews.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a technical sales support role, legal review role, commercial support role or technical document preparation role.
  • Position Competencies
  • Previous exposure to contract or terms of sale negotiations with EPC, Oil & Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Principals.
  • Experiencing creating or managing a risk assessment process
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with customers and in-house staff.
  • Ability to manage technical and commercial documentation in a detail-oriented fashion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, working with internal and external personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and use new business and technical software, including customer document submittal portals.
  • Ability to understand the general technical aspects of the products being sold.
  • High proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Other Requirements
  • Preferred background in capital equipment-oriented businesses. EPC related experience in capital equipment.
